Greg Bush, Jr.: Reviving a Legacy with B.I.G. Chicago Media Services Studios

Greg Bush, Jr. is back—and he’s bringing the magic of the past to the forefront of modern music. A true innovator with deep Chicago roots, Greg is the visionary behind B.I.G. Chicago Media Services Studios, where old-school meets cutting-edge. With a passion for analog techniques of the 80s and 90s, Greg is fusing these timeless methods with today’s leading technologies to create a sound that’s both nostalgic and fresh.

Born and raised in Chicago and the Southland, Greg’s entrepreneurial spirit and love for music were instilled in him from an early age. He comes from a family that believed in breaking boundaries—and he’s been doing just that since receiving three life-changing gifts in 1983: a Roland JX-3P synthesizer, a Boss DR-110 drum machine, and a Radio Shack TSR-80 computer. These tools sparked his lifelong love affair with music technology and production.

From classical piano training that began at age eight to producing Chicago House tracks under the name “Bush Master G” in high school, Greg lived and breathed music. Inspired by legends like Prince and Morris Day, he led his band, High Volume, blending the Minneapolis Sound with Chicago’s vibrant musical styles. His early mentors and collaborators, including Steve “Silk” Hurley & Marc “M-Doc” Williams, Gerald Levert, and Dug Inf shaped his understanding of studio production and remixing. Greg even taught young Kanye West how to sample on his Ensoniq ASR-10.

Greg’s career exploded in the '90s, as he worked on buzzy projects and earned acclaim with releases like “Let Yo Fro Gro,” a Chicago House anthem that became a global cult classic. He rubbed shoulders with industry titans, guided aspiring artists, and left his mark as a technology consultant and corporate leader. Along the way, he built a reputation as a top-notch mentor and resource for musicians and producers in Chicago’s dynamic music scene.

Now, with B.I.G. Chicago Media Services Studios, Greg is channeling all his experience and vision into creating an unparalleled space for artists. His studio blends vintage analog techniques—reel-to-reel tape decks, monophonic synthesizers, and the warm richness of old-school sound—with today’s digital capabilities. It’s a bold reminder that the past and future can harmonize beautifully.

Greg’s mission goes beyond producing music. He’s a mentor to the next generation of creatives, sharing his expertise in everything from music production to web technology and video post-production. At B.I.G. Chicago Media Services Studios, he’s proving that timeless artistry and modern innovation don’t just coexist—they thrive.

Whether you’re a seasoned musician or an emerging artist, Greg Bush, Jr. and his B.I.G. Chicago Media Services Studios team are here to bridge eras, build community, and make magic happen in Chicago and beyond. Welcome to the rebirth of old-school innovation—welcome to B.I.G. Chicago Media Services Studios.
